October 20, 2010: Heading To EssenToday, I and my crack team of demo monkeys land in Germany, for Essen Spiel. This is the largest hobby game event we attend each year, and it's a mind-blower. Over 100,000 attendees, a dozen exhibit halls, hundreds of new releases and over 400,000 square feet of games -- that's what we're going to dive into. And we only have four days to experience it all. In addition to checking out the new releases, and the games that haven't been spotted here in Texas yet, we've got our own booth. We'll be showing off prototypes of Munchkin Zombies and Give Me The Brain, as well as teaching Revolution! (with The Palace, of course!) and Nanuk. Oh, and we may play a few games of Zombie Dice and Cthulhu Dice . . . or a few hundred, if past experience runs true. If you're in Essen for this event, stop by and say "howdy!" -- Paul Chapman Share this post! |
